DNA Transcription Homework - UPDATED!

Homework tonight involved two phases:

Phase 1. Read the following article on this website and summarize each paragraph into summary statements and diagrams (Potential quiz tomorrow)

Phase 2. Watch the Video for the Summary of Transcription.  This video is located at the bottom of the article and answer the following questions:

a. What is the name of the region of DNA that RNA polymerase binds to in order to initiate transcription?

b. Does the newly synthesized mRNA ever bind to parental DNA strand?

c. Why are some mRNA regions "spliced" out of the final mRNA product?

d. What is attached to mRNA in order to signal the exit of mRNA from the nucleus?
